Logitech K380 broken key: replacing it

The Logitech K380 does not take MX Keys parts. How to replace a broken or lost K380 key, and where to get the single key (€4.99).

The Logitech K380 (920-007580) is a compact multi-device keyboard with round keys. The key point for repair: its mechanism and caps are not those of the MX Keys, and no MX Keys part fits it, neither key nor hinge. A broken or lost K380 key is replaced with a K380 key, which we sell individually at a flat €4.99, whatever the key.

Diagnosis

Recognising a K380: well-separated round keys, a very compact layout with no numeric keypad, three Easy-Switch buttons top left, and many colours. If your keyboard has square, slightly dished keys, it is more likely an MX Keys, an MX Keys Mini or a Signature Slim: follow that model's guide instead. Before ordering, check whether the key simply came unclipped: if nothing is broken underneath, it goes back on by pressing the centre.

How to fix it

  1. 1

Check that it really is a K380 (round keys) and not an MX Keys (square keys).

  2. 2

Note the key and the layout (AZERTY, QWERTY, QWERTZ), then order the matching K380 key, not an MX Keys key.

  3. 3

Gently lift the broken key from one edge, without prying on the mechanism.

  4. 4

Lay the K380 key flat and press the centre until it clicks; test it a few times.

FAQ

Can I replace a K380 key with an MX Keys key?

No. The two keyboards share neither the key shape (round versus square) nor the mounting: an MX Keys key or hinge will not hold on a K380.

How much does a K380 key cost?

€4.99 each, whatever the key. Stock depends on the keyboards we dismantle: each product page shows the layout and colour available.

My K380 key came off but is not broken — what now?

Lay it flat, the right way round, and press the centre until it clicks. If it will not hold or falls off again, something underneath is broken and you need a replacement key.

On a K380, only a K380 key fits. It is sold individually, €4.99 whatever the key, in the K380 section of the catalogue.
