Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the 6 / - replacement key
A 6 / - key from the number row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a broken or lost digit without buying a new keyboard. No copy here: the 6 / - key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this 6 / - keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the AZERTY (FR) layout.
The 6 / - key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the 6 / - key sits on the number row, 7th key from the left. On AZERTY it types “-” on its own and 6 with Shift; Alt Gr + 6 gives “|” in Windows. Like every one-unit key, the 6 / - key has no metal wire underneath: it is held only by its scissor hinge, clipped onto four anchor points. Once one clip gives way, the key tilts, pops off or falls out, while the cap itself is often intact.
How to install it
No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old 6 / - key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.
6 / - key — questions
- Will this 6 / - keycap fit my MX Keys S?
- Yes, whichever version you have: this 6 / - keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the AZERTY (FR) layout, so the printed characters match.
- Is the hinge included with the 6 / - key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the 6 / - key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- I changed the cap on the 6 / - key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- If the 6 / - key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the 6 / - key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
