Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Left arrow key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Left arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, to the left of the Down arrow. It moves the cursor one character to the left. With Ctrl it jumps a whole word; with Shift it extends the selection, and the two together select word by word.
About the Left arrow replacement key
A Left arrow key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a navigation key that cracked, wobbles or went missing. The Left arrow key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.
Compatibility
This Left arrow keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), where the arrows are full-height keys; the MX Keys Mini uses half-height arrows of another shape. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout.
The Left arrow key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys the arrows are full one-unit keys laid out in an inverted T; on the MX Keys Mini they are half-height keys of another shape, so the two do not swap. Rapid, repeated presses — scrolling, spreadsheets, games — are what tire out an arrow's scissor hinge, which has no metal wire to help it.
How to install it
No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old Left arrow key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.
Left arrow key — questions
- Where is the Left arrow key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Left arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, to the left of the Down arrow. It moves the cursor one character to the left. With Ctrl it jumps a whole word; with Shift it extends the selection, and the two together select word by word.
- Does this Left arrow keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose arrows are half-height keys.
- Is the hinge included with the Left arrow key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the Left arrow key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- My Left arrow key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- If the Left arrow key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the Left arrow key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
