Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.

About the £ / $ replacement key

A £ / $ key for the Logitech MX Keys, with its hinge: the exact punctuation of your layout, to replace a key that broke or went missing. The £ / $ key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.

Compatibility

This £ / $ keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is AZERTY (FR).

The £ / $ key: position, size and wear

On the full-size MX Keys, the £ / $ key sits on the top letter row, just below the digits, just left of Enter. In touch typing, it belongs to the right little finger. Its legend, “£ / $”, belongs to the AZERTY (FR) layout; physically, a symbol key from another layout has the same shape, but it would print the wrong characters. Like every one-unit key, the £ / $ key has no metal wire underneath: it is held only by its scissor hinge, clipped onto four anchor points. Once one clip gives way, the key tilts, pops off or falls out, while the cap itself is often intact.

How to install it

No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old £ / $ key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.

£ / $ key — questions

Does this £ / $ keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
It does, full-size or Mini: the £ / $ key has the same one-unit cap on all four models. Only the legend depends on the layout — AZERTY (FR) for this one.
Is the hinge included with the £ / $ key?
Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the £ / $ key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
I changed the cap on the £ / $ key, but it still types nothing — what now?
First try the £ / $ key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
