Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the 6 / & replacement key
Digit popping off or cap cracked on your MX Keys? This 6 / & key, shipped with its scissor hinge, replaces it like for like. Genuine Logitech and pre-owned, the 6 / & key was removed from another keyboard; only the rubber dome is not included.
Compatibility
This 6 / & keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTY (ES).
The 6 / & key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the 6 / & key sits on the number row, 7th key from the left. It types 6 on its own; the symbol printed beside it needs Shift. With no metal wire under a one-unit cap, the 6 / & key rests entirely on its scissor hinge. A press at an angle, a fingernail slipped underneath or a vigorous clean is enough to tear one of its clips.
How to install it
The 6 / & key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
6 / & key — questions
- Will the 6 / & key also fit an MX Keys Mini?
- Yes, whichever version you have: this 6 / & keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the QWERTY (ES) layout, so the printed characters match.
- Is the hinge included with the 6 / & key?
- Yes. The 6 / & key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the 6 / & key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
- My 6 / & key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- If the 6 / & key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the 6 / & key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
