Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the Bluetooth 3 replacement key
The Bluetooth 3 key from the top row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a key that cracked, was torn off or got lost. The Bluetooth 3 key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.
Compatibility
This Bluetooth 3 keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the QWERTY (ES) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.
The Bluetooth 3 key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, it sits in the top row, above Page Up. It is one of the three Easy-Switch keys: a press switches the keyboard to the device paired on channel 3, and a long press of about three seconds puts that channel into pairing mode. Pressed less often than a letter, the Bluetooth 3 key wears more slowly, but its scissor hinge is just as thin: a fingernail, a cloth or an object resting on the keyboard that catches it sideways can tear a clip off.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the Bluetooth 3 key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.
Bluetooth 3 key — questions
- Is the Bluetooth 3 key compatible with my MX Keys keyboard?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
- Is the hinge included with the Bluetooth 3 key?
- Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the Bluetooth 3 key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
- I changed the cap on the Bluetooth 3 key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- If the Bluetooth 3 key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the Bluetooth 3 key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
