Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Num Lock key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Num Lock key, marked with a padlock bearing a “1”, sits at the top left of the keypad, above the 7. Each press switches the keypad between numbers and navigation (arrows, Home, End, Page Up and Down). The keyboard has no Num Lock light: Logi Options+ can show its status on screen.
About the Num Lock replacement key
An incomplete keypad slows down every figure you type: this Num Lock key for the MX Keys, shipped with its hinge, replaces the missing one. Genuine Logitech and pre-owned, the Num Lock key was removed from another keyboard; only the rubber dome is not included.
Compatibility
This Num Lock keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), the only ones with a numeric keypad: the MX Keys Mini has none, so there is no place for it there. The legend is that of the QWERTY (ES) layout.
The Num Lock key: position, size and wear
The numeric keypad exists only on the full-size MX Keys, and its keys are hammered in quick one-handed runs during data entry. Nothing steadies the Num Lock key apart from its scissor hinge: one-unit keys have no metal wire. A hinge split on one side makes it rock, and a torn clip lets it go at the first knock.
How to install it
The Num Lock key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
Num Lock key — questions
- How do I turn on the number pad (Num Lock) on an MX Keys?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Num Lock key, marked with a padlock bearing a “1”, sits at the top left of the keypad, above the 7. Each press switches the keypad between numbers and navigation (arrows, Home, End, Page Up and Down). The keyboard has no Num Lock light: Logi Options+ can show its status on screen.
- Does this Num Lock keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes, if it is a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the QWERTY (ES) layout. The MX Keys Mini has no numeric keypad.
- Is the hinge included with the Num Lock key?
- Yes. The Num Lock key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the Num Lock key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
- My Num Lock key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
- A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the Num Lock key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the Num Lock key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
