Digit popping off or cap cracked on your MX Keys? This 7 / / key, shipped with its scissor hinge, replaces it like for like. We take the 7 / / key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.
Compatibility
This 7 / / keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTY (IT).
The 7 / / key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the 7 / / key sits on the number row, 6th key to the left of Backspace. It types 7 on its own; the symbol printed beside it needs Shift. Nothing steadies the 7 / / key apart from its scissor hinge: one-unit keys have no metal wire. A hinge split on one side makes it rock, and a torn clip lets it go at the first knock.
How to install it
The 7 / / key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.

- Does this 7 / / keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes. On the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, every key of the letter and number block has the same one-unit cap, the 7 / / key included; what has to match is the layout, here QWERTY (IT).
- Is the hinge included with the 7 / / key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the 7 / / key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- My 7 / / key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- First try the 7 / / key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
