Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Down arrow key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Down arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, between the Left arrow and the Right arrow, below the Up arrow. It moves the cursor one line down or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the next paragraph in Word.
About the Down arrow replacement key
Down arrow key broken or gone on your MX Keys? The key on its own, hinge included, goes back in place in a minute. A genuine salvaged part: the Down arrow key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.
Compatibility
This Down arrow keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), where the arrows are full-height keys; the MX Keys Mini uses half-height arrows of another shape. The legend is that of the QWERTY (IT) layout.
The Down arrow key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys the arrows are full one-unit keys laid out in an inverted T; on the MX Keys Mini they are half-height keys of another shape, so the two do not swap. An arrow takes long runs of quick presses, and its hinge, with no metal wire under it, is what eventually cracks.
How to install it
The Down arrow key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
Down arrow key — questions
- Where is the Down arrow key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Down arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, between the Left arrow and the Right arrow, below the Up arrow. It moves the cursor one line down or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the next paragraph in Word.
- Does this Down arrow keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose arrows are half-height keys.
- Is the hinge included with the Down arrow key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the Down arrow key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- My Down arrow key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
- First try the Down arrow key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
