Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the Calculator replacement key
The Calculator key from the top row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a key that cracked, was torn off or got lost. A genuine salvaged part: the Calculator key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.
Compatibility
This Calculator keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the QWERTY (PT) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.
The Calculator key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, it sits in the top row, above Num Lock. It opens the computer's calculator. The top row has no metal wires either: the cap is held by its X-shaped hinge alone, so a sideways knock while cleaning, or from something resting on the keys, is enough to unhook the Calculator key.
How to install it
Allow under a minute to refit the Calculator key, bare-handed or with a plastic spudger: free the old hinge if it is broken, clip the new one in the same orientation, then press straight down on the cap until you feel a soft click.
Calculator key — questions
- Will the Calculator key fit my MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
- Is the hinge included with the Calculator key?
- Yes. The Calculator key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the Calculator key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
- I changed the cap on the Calculator key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the Calculator key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the Calculator key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
