Very easy to replace

2 minutes, no need to take the keyboard apart. No skills required.

  1. Lift the old key by one corner, straight up, with a fingernail or a spudger.
  2. Clip the supplied hinge onto its hooks.
  3. Set the new key on top and press the centre until it clicks.

Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.

About the 4 / ç replacement key

A 4 / ç key from the number row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a broken or lost digit without buying a new keyboard. A genuine salvaged part: the 4 / ç key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.

Compatibility

Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this 4 / ç keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the QWERTZ (CH) layout.

The 4 / ç key: position, size and wear

On the full-size MX Keys, the 4 / ç key sits on the number row, 5th key from the left. It types 4 on its own; the symbol printed beside it needs Shift. With no metal wire under a one-unit cap, the 4 / ç key rests entirely on its scissor hinge. A press at an angle, a fingernail slipped underneath or a vigorous clean is enough to tear one of its clips.

How to install it

Allow under a minute to refit the 4 / ç key, bare-handed or with a plastic spudger: free the old hinge if it is broken, clip the new one in the same orientation, then press straight down on the cap until you feel a soft click.

Guide: repairing or replacing an MX Keys key, step by step

4 / ç key — questions

Will this 4 / ç keycap fit my MX Keys S?
Yes, whichever version you have: this 4 / ç keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the QWERTZ (CH) layout, so the printed characters match.
Is the hinge included with the 4 / ç key?
Yes. The 4 / ç key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the 4 / ç key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
My 4 / ç key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
First try the 4 / ç key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
