Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the Bluetooth 1 replacement key
The Bluetooth 1 key from the top row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a key that cracked, was torn off or got lost. The Bluetooth 1 key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.
Compatibility
This Bluetooth 1 keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the QWERTZ (CH) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.
The Bluetooth 1 key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, it sits in the top row, above Insert. It is one of the three Easy-Switch keys: a press switches the keyboard to the device paired on channel 1, and a long press of about three seconds puts that channel into pairing mode. The top row has no metal wires either: the cap is held by its X-shaped hinge alone, so a sideways knock while cleaning, or from something resting on the keys, is enough to unhook the Bluetooth 1 key.
How to install it
Allow under a minute to refit the Bluetooth 1 key, bare-handed or with a plastic spudger: free the old hinge if it is broken, clip the new one in the same orientation, then press straight down on the cap until you feel a soft click.
Bluetooth 1 key — questions
- Does this Bluetooth 1 keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
- Is the hinge included with the Bluetooth 1 key?
- Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the Bluetooth 1 key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
- I changed the cap on the Bluetooth 1 key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- First try the Bluetooth 1 key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
