Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.

About the ! / ¨ / ] replacement key

A ! / ¨ / ] key for the Logitech MX Keys, with its hinge: the exact punctuation of your layout, to replace a key that broke or went missing. The ! / ¨ / ] key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.

Compatibility

Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this ! / ¨ / ] keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the QWERTZ (CH) layout.

The ! / ¨ / ] key: position, size and wear

On the full-size MX Keys, the ! / ¨ / ] key sits on the top letter row, just below the digits, just left of Enter. In touch typing, it belongs to the right little finger. Its legend, “! / ¨ / ]”, belongs to the QWERTZ (CH) layout; physically, a symbol key from another layout has the same shape, but it would print the wrong characters. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the ! / ¨ / ] key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.

How to install it

No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old ! / ¨ / ] key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.

Guide: refitting an MX Keys key that pops off or tilts

! / ¨ / ] key — questions

Will the ! / ¨ / ] key also fit an MX Keys Mini?
Yes. On the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, every key of the letter and number block has the same one-unit cap, the ! / ¨ / ] key included; what has to match is the layout, here QWERTZ (CH).
Is the hinge included with the ! / ¨ / ] key?
Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the ! / ¨ / ] key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
My ! / ¨ / ] key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
If the ! / ¨ / ] key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the ! / ¨ / ] key still feels mushy.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
