Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

The key shipped is a compatible MX Keys key: same scissor mechanism and mounting as the original, with legend and finish that may differ slightly depending on the keyboard.

About the - (Num) replacement key

An incomplete keypad slows down every figure you type: this - (Num) key for the MX Keys, shipped with its hinge, replaces the missing one. A genuine salvaged part: the - (Num) key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.

Compatibility

This - (Num) keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), the only ones with a numeric keypad: the MX Keys Mini has none, so there is no place for it there. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout.

The - (Num) key: position, size and wear

The numeric keypad exists only on the full-size MX Keys, and its keys are hammered in quick one-handed runs during data entry. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the - (Num) key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.

How to install it

No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old - (Num) key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.

- (Num) key — questions

Is the - (Num) key compatible with my MX Keys keyboard?
Yes, if it is a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the AZERTY (FR) layout. The MX Keys Mini has no numeric keypad.
Is the hinge included with the - (Num) key?
Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the - (Num) key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
My - (Num) key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the - (Num) key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the - (Num) key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
