Very easy to replace

2 minutes, no need to take the keyboard apart. No skills required.

  1. Lift the old key by one corner, straight up, with a fingernail or a spudger.

Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the E / € replacement key

A replacement E / € key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge: a letter that pops off, leans or stops typing is a one-minute repair, not a new keyboard. A genuine salvaged part: the E / € key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.

Compatibility

This E / € keycap is cut for QWERTZ (DE) keyboards and fits the MX Keys Mini as well as the full-size MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac: across the alphanumeric block, both chassis use the same 1U cap. The legend is that of the QWERTZ (DE) layout.

The E / € key: position, size and wear

The E / € key sits on the main typing block, among the most frequently pressed keys on the keyboard. It also does double duty in Windows + E, which opens File Explorer. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the E / € key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.

How to install it

Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the E / € key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.

Guide: repairing or replacing an MX Keys key, step by step

E / € key — questions

Does this E / € keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
It does, full-size or Mini: the E / € key has the same one-unit cap on all four models. Only the legend depends on the layout — QWERTZ (DE) for this one.
Is the hinge included with the E / € key?
Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the E / € key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the E / € key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
My E / € key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
First try the E / € key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
