Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the C replacement key
A replacement C key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge: a letter that pops off, leans or stops typing is a one-minute repair, not a new keyboard. No copy here: the C key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this C keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the QWERTY (US) layout.
The C key: position, size and wear
The C key sits on the main typing block, among the most frequently pressed keys on the keyboard. It also does double duty in Ctrl + C, which copies the selection. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the C key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.
How to install it
Allow under a minute to refit the C key, bare-handed or with a plastic spudger: free the old hinge if it is broken, clip the new one in the same orientation, then press straight down on the cap until you feel a soft click.
C key — questions
- Will the C key also fit an MX Keys Mini?
- Yes. On the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, every key of the letter and number block has the same one-unit cap, the C key included; what has to match is the layout, here QWERTY (US).
- Is the hinge included with the C key?
- Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the C key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
- My C key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
- If the C key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the C key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
