Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Up arrow key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Up arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, above the Down arrow. It moves the cursor one line up or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the previous paragraph in Word.
About the Arrow Up replacement key
A Arrow Up key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a navigation key that cracked, wobbles or went missing. We take the Arrow Up key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.
Compatibility
This Arrow Up keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), where the arrows are full-height keys; the MX Keys Mini uses half-height arrows of another shape. The legend is that of the QWERTY (US) layout.
The Arrow Up key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys the arrows are full one-unit keys laid out in an inverted T; on the MX Keys Mini they are half-height keys of another shape, so the two do not swap. Rapid, repeated presses — scrolling, spreadsheets, games — are what tire out an arrow's scissor hinge, which has no metal wire to help it.
How to install it
The Arrow Up key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
Arrow Up key — questions
- Where is the Up arrow key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Up arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, above the Down arrow. It moves the cursor one line up or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the previous paragraph in Word.
- Will the Arrow Up key fit my MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose arrows are half-height keys.
- Is the hinge included with the Arrow Up key?
- Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the Arrow Up key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the Arrow Up key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
- I changed the cap on the Arrow Up key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- First try the Arrow Up key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
