Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Where is the Enter key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Enter key sits on the right edge of the main block, two rows tall, below Backspace, above the right Shift key. It confirms an entry, a command or a form and, in a text, starts a new paragraph. Shift + Enter inserts a simple line break in most word processors.
About the Enter replacement key
Is your Enter key leaning, catching or off altogether? This Enter key for the Logitech MX Keys comes on its own, hinge included, and refits without tools. We take the Enter key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.
Compatibility
This Enter keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the QWERTY (US) layout. The MX Keys Mini has its own proportions for this key, so this cap is not meant for it.
The Enter key: position, size and wear
The Enter key on this keyboard is a tall key, two rows high, wider at the top than at the bottom. It is struck by the right little finger, often firmly, to confirm or start a new line. On a cap this wide, an off-centre press loads only one side of the scissor hinge: that side is the one that splits, and the Enter key then leans towards it or catches. The longer the key, the more a press at one end acts as a lever.
How to install it
No tools needed for the Enter key: free the old cap from one end, clear the broken hinge and clip the new one in the same orientation. Should a metal wire run under the key, seat it in its clips before anything else, then press the middle and finish with both ends.
Enter key — questions
- Where is the Enter key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Enter key sits on the right edge of the main block, two rows tall, below Backspace, above the right Shift key. It confirms an entry, a command or a form and, in a text, starts a new paragraph. Shift + Enter inserts a simple line break in most word processors.
- Will the Enter key fit my MX Keys?
- Yes, if it is a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the QWERTY (US) layout: the Enter key has exactly this shape there. Not on the MX Keys Mini, where this key has other proportions.
- Is the hinge included with the Enter key?
- Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the Enter key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the Enter key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
- My Enter key feels loose or uneven after fitting — what should I check?
- Take the Enter cap off again and check that the hinge is clipped onto all its anchor points; if a metal wire sits under the key, make sure it is engaged in its clips. Then press the centre of the Enter key before its ends.
