Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the H replacement key
A replacement H key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge: a letter that pops off, leans or stops typing is a one-minute repair, not a new keyboard. No copy here: the H key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
This H keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTY (US).
The H key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the H key sits on the middle row, 6th key to the right of Caps Lock. In touch typing, it belongs to the right index finger. Beyond typing, it drives the Ctrl + H shortcut, which opens the history in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the H key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.
How to install it
Allow under a minute to refit the H key, bare-handed or with a plastic spudger: free the old hinge if it is broken, clip the new one in the same orientation, then press straight down on the cap until you feel a soft click.
H key — questions
- Does this H keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes, whichever version you have: this H keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the QWERTY (US) layout, so the printed characters match.
- Is the hinge included with the H key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the H key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- My H key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
- A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the H key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the H key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
