Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
About the ` / ^ replacement key
A missing punctuation key shows up in every sentence: this ` / ^ key for the MX Keys, hinge included, takes its place back in a minute. We take the ` / ^ key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.
Compatibility
This ` / ^ keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTY (ES).
The ` / ^ key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the ` / ^ key sits on the top letter row, just below the digits, 2nd key to the left of Enter. In touch typing, it belongs to the right little finger. It carries “` / ^”, characters specific to the QWERTY (ES) layout: the legend is what matters here, since a cap from another layout would clip into the same spot with different symbols. Like every one-unit key, the ` / ^ key has no metal wire underneath: it is held only by its scissor hinge, clipped onto four anchor points. Once one clip gives way, the key tilts, pops off or falls out, while the cap itself is often intact.
How to install it
No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old ` / ^ key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.
` / ^ key — questions
- Will the ` / ^ key also fit an MX Keys Mini?
- Yes, whichever version you have: this ` / ^ keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the QWERTY (ES) layout, so the printed characters match.
- Is the hinge included with the ` / ^ key?
- Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the ` / ^ key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
- My ` / ^ key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
- First try the ` / ^ key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
