Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
About the + / * replacement key
A missing punctuation key shows up in every sentence: this + / * key for the MX Keys, hinge included, takes its place back in a minute. No copy here: the + / * key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
This + / * keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTY (ES).
The + / * key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the + / * key sits on the top letter row, just below the digits, just left of Enter. In touch typing, it belongs to the right little finger. It carries “+ / *”, characters specific to the QWERTY (ES) layout: the legend is what matters here, since a cap from another layout would clip into the same spot with different symbols. Nothing steadies the + / * key apart from its scissor hinge: one-unit keys have no metal wire. A hinge split on one side makes it rock, and a torn clip lets it go at the first knock.
How to install it
The + / * key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
+ / * key — questions
- Does this + / * keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- It does, full-size or Mini: the + / * key has the same one-unit cap on all four models. Only the legend depends on the layout — QWERTY (ES) for this one.
- Is the hinge included with the + / * key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the + / * key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- I changed the cap on the + / * key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- If the + / * key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the + / * key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
