Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Up arrow key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Up arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, above the Down arrow. It moves the cursor one line up or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the previous paragraph in Word.
About the Up arrow replacement key
Up arrow key broken or gone on your MX Keys? The key on its own, hinge included, goes back in place in a minute. No copy here: the Up arrow key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
This Up arrow keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), where the arrows are full-height keys; the MX Keys Mini uses half-height arrows of another shape. The legend is that of the QWERTY (ES) layout.
The Up arrow key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys the arrows are full one-unit keys laid out in an inverted T; on the MX Keys Mini they are half-height keys of another shape, so the two do not swap. Rapid, repeated presses — scrolling, spreadsheets, games — are what tire out an arrow's scissor hinge, which has no metal wire to help it.
How to install it
The Up arrow key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
Up arrow key — questions
- Where is the Up arrow key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Up arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, above the Down arrow. It moves the cursor one line up or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the previous paragraph in Word.
- Is the Up arrow key compatible with my MX Keys keyboard?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose arrows are half-height keys.
- Is the hinge included with the Up arrow key?
- Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the Up arrow key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the Up arrow key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
- My Up arrow key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- If the Up arrow key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the Up arrow key still feels mushy.
