Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the Context menu replacement key
Has your MX Keys lost its Context menu key? This is the part on its own, hinge included, so the top row is complete again without a new keyboard. Genuine Logitech and pre-owned, the Context menu key was removed from another keyboard; only the rubber dome is not included.
Compatibility
This Context menu keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the QWERTY (PT) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.
The Context menu key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, it sits in the top row, above *. It opens the context menu, like a right click. Pressed less often than a letter, the Context menu key wears more slowly, but its scissor hinge is just as thin: a fingernail, a cloth or an object resting on the keyboard that catches it sideways can tear a clip off.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the Context menu key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.
Context menu key — questions
- Does this Context menu keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
- Is the hinge included with the Context menu key?
- Yes. The Context menu key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the Context menu key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
- I changed the cap on the Context menu key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- First try the Context menu key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
