Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Fn key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Fn key sits on the bottom row, between Alt Gr and the right Ctrl key, below the right Shift key. It types no character: held down, it switches the top row from its drawn functions (brightness, media, volume) to F1-F12. Fn + Esc swaps that setting for good.
About the Fn replacement key
Is your Fn key leaning, catching or off altogether? This Fn key for the Logitech MX Keys comes on its own, hinge included, and refits without tools. No copy here: the Fn key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
This Fn keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the QWERTZ (CH) layout. On the MX Keys Mini, Fn and both Opt keys are a single unit wide, against 1.25 to 2 units here.
The Fn key: position, size and wear
The Fn key is wider than a letter key. It is held to reach the top-row functions, often with the hand stretched, and so at an angle. On a cap this wide, an off-centre press loads only one side of the scissor hinge: that side is the one that splits, and the Fn key then leans towards it or catches.
How to install it
Lift the old Fn cap by a corner, remove the damaged hinge and clip in the one supplied. Lay the Fn key flat, then press the centre and each end: on a key wider than a letter, one side left unseated makes it lean.
Fn key — questions
- Where is the Fn key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Fn key sits on the bottom row, between Alt Gr and the right Ctrl key, below the right Shift key. It types no character: held down, it switches the top row from its drawn functions (brightness, media, volume) to F1-F12. Fn + Esc swaps that setting for good.
- Does this Fn keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes, if it is a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the QWERTZ (CH) layout: the Fn key has exactly this shape there. Not on the MX Keys Mini, where Fn and both Opt keys are a single unit wide.
- Is the hinge included with the Fn key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the Fn key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- My Fn key feels loose or uneven after fitting — what should I check?
- Take the Fn cap off again and check that the hinge is clipped onto all its anchor points; if a metal wire sits under the key, make sure it is engaged in its clips. Then press the centre of the Fn key before its ends.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
