Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the L replacement key
Missing the L on your Logitech MX Keys, or has it stopped responding? This is the key on its own, hinge included, ready to clip in where the old one was. A genuine salvaged part: the L key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.
Compatibility
This L keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTZ (CH).
The L key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the L key sits on the middle row, 4th key to the left of Enter. It is one of the eight home-row keys, where the right ring finger rests in touch typing. Beyond typing, it drives the Ctrl + L shortcut, which jumps to the browser address bar. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the L key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the L key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.
L key — questions
- Does this L keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- It does, full-size or Mini: the L key has the same one-unit cap on all four models. Only the legend depends on the layout — QWERTZ (CH) for this one.
- Is the hinge included with the L key?
- Yes. The L key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the L key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
- I changed the cap on the L key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the L key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the L key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
