Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.

About the H replacement key

Missing the H on your Logitech MX Keys, or has it stopped responding? This is the key on its own, hinge included, ready to clip in where the old one was. The H key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.

Compatibility

Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this H keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the QWERTZ (DE) layout.

The H key: position, size and wear

On the full-size MX Keys, the H key sits on the middle row, 6th key to the right of Caps Lock. In touch typing, it belongs to the right index finger. It also does double duty in Ctrl + H, which opens the history in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. With no metal wire under a one-unit cap, the H key rests entirely on its scissor hinge. A press at an angle, a fingernail slipped underneath or a vigorous clean is enough to tear one of its clips.

How to install it

The H key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.

Step-by-step guide: swapping an MX Keys key and its hinge

H key — questions

Will this H keycap fit my MX Keys S?
Yes. On the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, every key of the letter and number block has the same one-unit cap, the H key included; what has to match is the layout, here QWERTZ (DE).
Is the hinge included with the H key?
Yes. The H key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the H key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
I changed the cap on the H key, but it still types nothing — what now?
First try the H key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
