Very easy to replace

2 minutes, no need to take the keyboard apart. No skills required.

  1. Lift the old key by one corner, straight up, with a fingernail or a spudger.
  2. Clip the supplied hinge onto its hooks.
  3. Set the new key on top and press the centre until it clicks.

Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.

About the Q / @ replacement key

Missing the Q / @ on your Logitech MX Keys, or has it stopped responding? This is the key on its own, hinge included, ready to clip in where the old one was. The Q / @ key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.

Compatibility

This Q / @ keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTZ (DE).

The Q / @ key: position, size and wear

On the full-size MX Keys, the Q / @ key sits on the top letter row, just below the digits, right next to Tab. In touch typing, it belongs to the left little finger. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the Q / @ key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.

How to install it

Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the Q / @ key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.

Guide: refitting an MX Keys key that pops off or tilts

Q / @ key — questions

Will the Q / @ key also fit an MX Keys Mini?
Yes, whichever version you have: this Q / @ keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the QWERTZ (DE) layout, so the printed characters match.
Is the hinge included with the Q / @ key?
Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the Q / @ key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
My Q / @ key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the Q / @ key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the Q / @ key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
