Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the Bluetooth 2 replacement key
Has your MX Keys lost its Bluetooth 2 key? This is the part on its own, hinge included, so the top row is complete again without a new keyboard. No copy here: the Bluetooth 2 key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
This Bluetooth 2 keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.
The Bluetooth 2 key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, it sits in the top row, above Home. It is one of the three Easy-Switch keys: a press switches the keyboard to the device paired on channel 2, and a long press of about three seconds puts that channel into pairing mode. Pressed less often than a letter, the Bluetooth 2 key wears more slowly, but its scissor hinge is just as thin: a fingernail, a cloth or an object resting on the keyboard that catches it sideways can tear a clip off.
How to install it
No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old Bluetooth 2 key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.
Bluetooth 2 key — questions
- Does this Bluetooth 2 keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
- Is the hinge included with the Bluetooth 2 key?
- Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the Bluetooth 2 key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the Bluetooth 2 key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
- My Bluetooth 2 key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- First try the Bluetooth 2 key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
