Very easy to replace

2 minutes, no need to take the keyboard apart. No skills required.

  1. Lift the old key by one corner, straight up, with a fingernail or a spudger.
  2. Clip the supplied hinge onto its hooks.
  3. Set the new key on top and press the centre until it clicks.

Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

The key shipped is a compatible MX Keys key: same scissor mechanism and mounting as the original, with legend and finish that may differ slightly depending on the keyboard.

About the Bluetooth 1 replacement key

The Bluetooth 1 key from the top row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a key that cracked, was torn off or got lost. Genuine Logitech and pre-owned, the Bluetooth 1 key was removed from another keyboard; only the rubber dome is not included.

Compatibility

This Bluetooth 1 keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.

The Bluetooth 1 key: position, size and wear

The Bluetooth 1 key belongs to the top row, which drives shortcuts, media and brightness. Pressed less often than a letter, the Bluetooth 1 key wears more slowly, but its scissor hinge is just as thin: a fingernail, a cloth or an object resting on the keyboard that catches it sideways can tear a clip off.

How to install it

Allow under a minute to refit the Bluetooth 1 key, bare-handed or with a plastic spudger: free the old hinge if it is broken, clip the new one in the same orientation, then press straight down on the cap until you feel a soft click.

Guide: repairing or replacing an MX Keys key, step by step

Bluetooth 1 key — questions

Is the Bluetooth 1 key compatible with my MX Keys keyboard?
Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
Is the hinge included with the Bluetooth 1 key?
Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the Bluetooth 1 key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the Bluetooth 1 key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
My Bluetooth 1 key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
First try the Bluetooth 1 key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
