Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

The key shipped is a compatible MX Keys key: same scissor mechanism and mounting as the original, with legend and finish that may differ slightly depending on the keyboard.

About the Bluetooth 2 replacement key

The Bluetooth 2 key from the top row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a key that cracked, was torn off or got lost. Genuine Logitech and pre-owned, the Bluetooth 2 key was removed from another keyboard; only the rubber dome is not included.

Compatibility

This Bluetooth 2 keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.

The Bluetooth 2 key: position, size and wear

The Bluetooth 2 key belongs to the top row, which drives shortcuts, media and brightness. The top row has no metal wires either: the cap is held by its X-shaped hinge alone, so a sideways knock while cleaning, or from something resting on the keys, is enough to unhook the Bluetooth 2 key.

How to install it

The Bluetooth 2 key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.

Bluetooth 2 key — questions

Is the Bluetooth 2 key compatible with my MX Keys keyboard?
Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
Is the hinge included with the Bluetooth 2 key?
Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the Bluetooth 2 key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
My Bluetooth 2 key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
If the Bluetooth 2 key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the Bluetooth 2 key still feels mushy.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
