Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the H replacement key
A replacement H key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge: a letter that pops off, leans or stops typing is a one-minute repair, not a new keyboard. We take the H key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.
Compatibility
Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this H keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the AZERTY (FR) layout.
The H key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the H key sits on the middle row, 6th key to the right of Caps Lock. In touch typing, it belongs to the right index finger. Beyond typing, it drives the Ctrl + H shortcut, which opens the history in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. With no metal wire under a one-unit cap, the H key rests entirely on its scissor hinge. A press at an angle, a fingernail slipped underneath or a vigorous clean is enough to tear one of its clips.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the H key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.
H key — questions
- Will this H keycap fit my MX Keys S?
- Yes, whichever version you have: this H keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the AZERTY (FR) layout, so the printed characters match.
- Is the hinge included with the H key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the H key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- I changed the cap on the H key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- First try the H key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
