Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Tab key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Tab key sits on the left edge of the keyboard, above Caps Lock. It inserts a tab in a text and moves to the next field of a form; Shift + Tab goes back to the previous field. In Windows, Alt + Tab switches between open windows.
About the Tab replacement key
Is your Tab key leaning, catching or off altogether? This Tab key for the Logitech MX Keys comes on its own, hinge included, and refits without tools. No copy here: the Tab key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
This Tab keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the AZERTY (FR) layout. The MX Keys Mini has its own proportions for this key, so this cap is not meant for it.
The Tab key: position, size and wear
The Tab key is 1.5 units wide, a unit being the width of a letter key. It is struck by the left little finger with a sideways movement, seldom dead centre. On a cap this wide, an off-centre press loads only one side of the scissor hinge: that side is the one that splits, and the Tab key then leans towards it or catches.
How to install it
Lift the old Tab cap by a corner, remove the damaged hinge and clip in the one supplied. Lay the Tab key flat, then press the centre and each end: on a key wider than a letter, one side left unseated makes it lean.
Tab key — questions
- Where is the Tab key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Tab key sits on the left edge of the keyboard, above Caps Lock. It inserts a tab in a text and moves to the next field of a form; Shift + Tab goes back to the previous field. In Windows, Alt + Tab switches between open windows.
- Does this Tab keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes, if it is a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the AZERTY (FR) layout: the Tab key has exactly this shape there. Not on the MX Keys Mini, where this key has other proportions.
- Is the hinge included with the Tab key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the Tab key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- My Tab key feels loose or uneven after fitting — what should I check?
- Take the Tab cap off again and check that the hinge is clipped onto all its anchor points; if a metal wire sits under the key, make sure it is engaged in its clips. Then press the centre of the Tab key before its ends.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
