Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the Fn replacement key
Is your Fn key leaning, catching or off altogether? This Fn key for the Logitech MX Keys comes on its own, hinge included, and refits without tools. Genuine Logitech and pre-owned, the Fn key was removed from another keyboard; only the rubber dome is not included.
Compatibility
This Fn keycap is cut for QWERTZ (DE) keyboards and fits the MX Keys Mini only. The full-size MX Keys uses a different geometry for this key — on the Mini, the function row is shorter, the arrows are half-height keys and the modifiers are narrower. Only letters, digits and special characters, all 1U, swap between the two chassis. The legend matches the QWERTZ (DE) layout.
The Fn key: position, size and wear
The Fn key is a control key that is held or struck all day long, alongside the letters. Like every one-unit key, the Fn key has no metal wire underneath: it is held only by its scissor hinge, clipped onto four anchor points. Once one clip gives way, the key tilts, pops off or falls out, while the cap itself is often intact.
How to install it
The Fn key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
Fn key — questions
- Does this Fn keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Only if that keyboard is an MX Keys Mini. On the full-size MX Keys this key does not have the same geometry, so the cap will not seat. Letters, digits and special characters are the ones that swap freely between the two chassis — this key is not one of them.
- Is the hinge included with the Fn key?
- Yes. The hinge travels in the parcel with the Fn key, ready to fit; what you will not find is the rubber dome, which never leaves your keyboard and is sold separately if needed.
- I changed the cap on the Fn key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- First try the Fn key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
