Compatibility
This + / * keycap is cut for QWERTZ (DE) keyboards and fits the MX Keys Mini as well as the full-size MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac: across the alphanumeric block, both chassis use the same 1U cap. The legend is that of the QWERTZ (DE) layout.
The + / * key: position, size and wear
It carries “+ / *”, characters specific to the QWERTZ (DE) layout: the legend is what matters here, since a cap from another layout would clip into the same spot with different symbols. Nothing steadies the + / * key apart from its scissor hinge: one-unit keys have no metal wire. A hinge split on one side makes it rock, and a torn clip lets it go at the first knock.
How to install it
The + / * key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
