Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the 6 (Num) replacement key
An incomplete keypad slows down every figure you type: this 6 (Num) key for the MX Keys, shipped with its hinge, replaces the missing one. Genuine Logitech and pre-owned, the 6 (Num) key was removed from another keyboard; only the rubber dome is not included.
Compatibility
This 6 (Num) keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), the only ones with a numeric keypad: the MX Keys Mini has none, so there is no place for it there. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout.
The 6 (Num) key: position, size and wear
The numeric keypad exists only on the full-size MX Keys, and its keys are hammered in quick one-handed runs during data entry. With no metal wire under a one-unit cap, the 6 (Num) key rests entirely on its scissor hinge. A press at an angle, a fingernail slipped underneath or a vigorous clean is enough to tear one of its clips.
How to install it
No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old 6 (Num) key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.
6 (Num) key — questions
- Does this 6 (Num) keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes, if it is a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the AZERTY (FR) layout. The MX Keys Mini has no numeric keypad.
- Is the hinge included with the 6 (Num) key?
- Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the 6 (Num) key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the 6 (Num) key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
- My 6 (Num) key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
- A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the 6 (Num) key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the 6 (Num) key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
