Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the M replacement key
A replacement M key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge: a letter that pops off, leans or stops typing is a one-minute repair, not a new keyboard. No copy here: the M key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this M keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the AZERTY (FR) layout.
The M key: position, size and wear
The M key sits on the main typing block, among the most frequently pressed keys on the keyboard. Beyond typing, it drives the Windows + M shortcut, which minimises every window. Nothing steadies the M key apart from its scissor hinge: one-unit keys have no metal wire. A hinge split on one side makes it rock, and a torn clip lets it go at the first knock.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the M key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.
M key — questions
- Does this M keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- It does, full-size or Mini: the M key has the same one-unit cap on all four models. Only the legend depends on the layout — AZERTY (FR) for this one.
- Is the hinge included with the M key?
- Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the M key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the M key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
- My M key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- If the M key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the M key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
