Very easy to replace

2 minutes, no need to take the keyboard apart. No skills required.

  1. Lift the old key by one corner, straight up, with a fingernail or a spudger.
  2. Clip the supplied hinge onto its hooks.
  3. Set the new key on top and press the centre until it clicks.

Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the O replacement key

A replacement O key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge: a letter that pops off, leans or stops typing is a one-minute repair, not a new keyboard. A genuine salvaged part: the O key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.

Compatibility

Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this O keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the AZERTY (FR) layout.

The O key: position, size and wear

The O key sits on the main typing block, among the most frequently pressed keys on the keyboard. Beyond typing, it drives the Ctrl + O shortcut, which opens a file. A key this size has no stabiliser, so all of its support comes from the X-shaped hinge and its four anchor points. When the O key starts to lean or comes away, that hinge is nearly always what failed, well before the cap.

How to install it

Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the O key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.

4-step guide: repairing a broken MX Keys key

O key — questions

Does this O keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
Yes. On the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, every key of the letter and number block has the same one-unit cap, the O key included; what has to match is the layout, here AZERTY (FR).
Is the hinge included with the O key?
Yes. The O key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the O key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
My O key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the O key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the O key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
