Recommended tools for some keys

Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

Compatible with these Logitech keyboards

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.

Where is the keypad Enter key and what does it do?

On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the keypad Enter key sits at the bottom right of the keypad, two rows tall, below +. It confirms an entry or a calculation, exactly like the main Enter key, placed here so figures can be keyed in with one hand. Num Lock has no effect on it.

About the Enter (Num) replacement key

An incomplete keypad slows down every figure you type: this Enter (Num) key for the MX Keys, shipped with its hinge, replaces the missing one. We take the Enter (Num) key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.

Compatibility

This Enter (Num) keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), the only ones with a numeric keypad: the MX Keys Mini has none, so there is no place for it there. The legend is that of the QWERTY (PT) layout.

The Enter (Num) key: position, size and wear

Only the full-size MX Keys has a numeric keypad; its keys take bursts of one-handed presses whenever figures are keyed in. Two rows tall, the Enter (Num) key is often pressed at one end: the off-centre load works one side of the hinge until it splits, and the key then leans or catches.

How to install it

Lift the old Enter (Num) cap by one end, remove the damaged hinge and clip in the one supplied. If a metal wire sits under the key, hook it into its clips first; then press the centre, then each end, until the Enter (Num) key sits flush and springs back evenly.

Enter (Num) key — questions

Where is the keypad Enter key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the keypad Enter key sits at the bottom right of the keypad, two rows tall, below +. It confirms an entry or a calculation, exactly like the main Enter key, placed here so figures can be keyed in with one hand. Num Lock has no effect on it.
Is the Enter (Num) key compatible with my MX Keys keyboard?
Yes, if it is a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac) in the QWERTY (PT) layout. The MX Keys Mini has no numeric keypad.
Is the hinge included with the Enter (Num) key?
Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the Enter (Num) key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the Enter (Num) key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
My Enter (Num) key feels loose or uneven after fitting — what should I check?
Take the Enter (Num) cap off again and check that the hinge is clipped onto all its anchor points; if a metal wire sits under the key, make sure it is engaged in its clips. Then press the centre of the Enter (Num) key before its ends.

Check your keyboard's brand

You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
