The Italian layout puts the accented vowels — à, è, ì, ò, ù — on dedicated keys down the right-hand side, between the L and the Enter key. That is its signature, and it is also what makes those positions impossible to replace with a key from another layout. Every position can be ordered individually, with its plastic hinge, from €7.99 for a letter to €21.90 for the spacebar. This layout ships on the MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys Mini distributed in Italy. For unaccented letters, though, a key from any other QWERTY layout fits perfectly: the scissor mechanism is identical across the range. The keys below are the ones currently available.

Spotting an Italian QWERTY keyboard
Count the accented keys to the right of the L: the Italian layout lines up five, which no other layout does. If you see à, è, ì, ò and ù each on its own key, the keyboard is Italian. The ç, present in France and Portugal, is absent.
