Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the Calculator replacement key
The Calculator key from the top row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a key that cracked, was torn off or got lost. A genuine salvaged part: the Calculator key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.
Compatibility
This Calculator keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.
The Calculator key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, it sits in the top row, above Num Lock. It opens the computer's calculator. The top row has no metal wires either: the cap is held by its X-shaped hinge alone, so a sideways knock while cleaning, or from something resting on the keys, is enough to unhook the Calculator key.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the Calculator key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.
Calculator key — questions
- Will the Calculator key fit my MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
- Is the hinge included with the Calculator key?
- Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the Calculator key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
- My Calculator key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- If the Calculator key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the Calculator key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
