What is the difference between the top and bottom feet?

The top ones, on the back edge of the keyboard, are thicker; the bottom ones, on the wrist side, are thinner. The complete set holds both: three of each.

Set of 3 rubber feet (top, thick) — MX Keys: the three rubber feet along the back edge of the MX Keys, the thicker ones. They keep the keyboard in place on the desk and cover the screws that hold the case shut. Feet pulled from used MX Keys keyboards we take apart.

When to replace them

A foot that is lost, peeling off or flattened, and the keyboard slides or rocks on the desk. They also suffer every time the keyboard is opened, since they have to come off to reach the case screws.

How to fit them

Remove what is left of the old foot and clean its recess, then press the new one into place firmly along its whole length. The thick feet go on the back edge, the thin ones on the front edge.
