Can I choose the key or the layout?

No, that is the point: the key is drawn at random. For a specific key, order it individually — every key in the catalogue ships with its hinge.

Overview

Random MX Keys key: a genuine MX Keys key drawn at random from our teardown stock — the layout and character are chosen by us, not by you. It ships without a hinge.

Compatibility

These are MX Keys family keys that clip onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac. Neither the layout nor the character is guaranteed: a key drawn at random does not replace a specific key.

What it is for

Keeping a spare key at hand, or practising the teardown on a key that does not matter. To replace a specific key — an A, the Enter key — order it individually: every position in the catalogue has its own page.

How to fit it

It goes onto a hinge in good condition: set the cap on flat and press the centre until it clicks. If the hinge is broken, take the version with hinge or a single hinge.

Frequently asked questions

Is the hinge included?: No. If your hinge is broken, take the version with hinge, or a single hinge.
