Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the 0 / ) replacement key
Digit popping off or cap cracked on your MX Keys? This 0 / ) key, shipped with its scissor hinge, replaces it like for like. We take the 0 / ) key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.
Compatibility
This 0 / ) keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTY (US).
The 0 / ) key: position, size and wear
The 0 / ) key belongs to the number row, above the letters. It types 0 on its own; the symbol printed beside it needs Shift. With no metal wire under a one-unit cap, the 0 / ) key rests entirely on its scissor hinge. A press at an angle, a fingernail slipped underneath or a vigorous clean is enough to tear one of its clips.
How to install it
No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old 0 / ) key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.
0 / ) key — questions
- Will the 0 / ) key also fit an MX Keys Mini?
- Yes. On the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, every key of the letter and number block has the same one-unit cap, the 0 / ) key included; what has to match is the layout, here QWERTY (US).
- Is the hinge included with the 0 / ) key?
- Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the 0 / ) key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
- I changed the cap on the 0 / ) key, but it still types nothing — what now?
- If the 0 / ) key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the 0 / ) key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
