Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the 2 / @ replacement key
Digit popping off or cap cracked on your MX Keys? This 2 / @ key, shipped with its scissor hinge, replaces it like for like. No copy here: the 2 / @ key comes, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard, and arrives without the rubber dome, which stays on yours.
Compatibility
Across the letter and number block, the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac share the same one-unit cap, so this 2 / @ keycap fits a full-size model and a Mini alike. Choose it by its legend — here, the QWERTY (US) layout.
The 2 / @ key: position, size and wear
The 2 / @ key belongs to the number row, above the letters. It types 2 on its own; the symbol printed beside it needs Shift. Nothing steadies the 2 / @ key apart from its scissor hinge: one-unit keys have no metal wire. A hinge split on one side makes it rock, and a torn clip lets it go at the first knock.
How to install it
The 2 / @ key needs no tools: unhook the old cap at a corner, take out any remains of the hinge, clip the supplied hinge in flat, then press the new cap down until you hear the click.
2 / @ key — questions
- Will this 2 / @ keycap fit my MX Keys S?
- Yes, whichever version you have: this 2 / @ keycap is a one-unit cap shared by the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac. Just check that your keyboard uses the QWERTY (US) layout, so the printed characters match.
- Is the hinge included with the 2 / @ key?
- Yes: cap and hinge arrive together. The dome, the small rubber cup that makes the 2 / @ key spring back, is not part of the order; the one on your keyboard is reused, and a spare dome can be ordered on its own.
- My 2 / @ key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- First try the 2 / @ key on another computer or in another program, to rule out a setting. If it stays silent, look under the cap: with a split hinge it moves crooked; with a crushed or loose dome it goes down without typing.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
