Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the 2 / @ replacement key
A 2 / @ key from the number row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a broken or lost digit without buying a new keyboard. The 2 / @ key is a genuine Logitech part, pre-owned, taken from a dismantled keyboard; the rubber dome is not supplied, as the one on your keyboard stays in place.
Compatibility
This 2 / @ keycap is a one-unit cap from the alphanumeric block: it clips onto the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, which all use the same key size across that block. Only the legend changes from one layout to another; this one is QWERTY (US).
The 2 / @ key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys, the 2 / @ key sits on the number row, 3rd key from the left. It types 2 on its own; the symbol printed beside it needs Shift. With no metal wire under a one-unit cap, the 2 / @ key rests entirely on its scissor hinge. A press at an angle, a fingernail slipped underneath or a vigorous clean is enough to tear one of its clips.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the 2 / @ key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held.
2 / @ key — questions
- Will this 2 / @ keycap fit my MX Keys S?
- Yes. On the MX Keys, MX Keys S, MX Keys Mini and MX Keys for Mac, every key of the letter and number block has the same one-unit cap, the 2 / @ key included; what has to match is the layout, here QWERTY (US).
- Is the hinge included with the 2 / @ key?
- Yes. The 2 / @ key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the 2 / @ key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
- My 2 / @ key still doesn't work after I replaced the cap — why?
- If the 2 / @ key was unresponsive rather than physically broken, the fault usually lies in its scissor hinge, included here, or in the rubber dome underneath, sold separately. Replace the hinge first, then the dome if the 2 / @ key still feels mushy.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
