Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

About the F11 replacement key
The F11 key from the top row of the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a key that cracked, was torn off or got lost. We take the F11 key from dismantled keyboards: it is a genuine, pre-owned Logitech cap, sold without the dome.
Compatibility
This F11 keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), not the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter. The legend is that of the AZERTY (FR) layout. On the MX Keys S, the top-row keys carry different icons, so this key will not match them exactly.
The F11 key: position, size and wear
It carries two markings: a drawn icon in the middle and “F11” in a corner — the two functions Fn switches between. Pressed less often than a letter, the F11 key wears more slowly, but its scissor hinge is just as thin: a fingernail, a cloth or an object resting on the keyboard that catches it sideways can tear a clip off.
How to install it
Fitting takes no tools. If the old hinge under the F11 key is split, remove its fragments; seat the one supplied, hold the new cap flat above it and press the middle — a click tells you it is held. To test it, try it alone and then with Fn held: one press triggers the drawn function, the other F11.
F11 key — questions
- Does this F11 keycap fit my Logitech MX Keys?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose top-row caps are shorter.
- Is the hinge included with the F11 key?
- Yes. The F11 key ships with its scissor hinge, so it also fixes a key that lost its clip. The rubber dome under the F11 key is not included: yours stays on the keyboard, and a spare can be ordered separately if it is damaged.
- My F11 key triggers its icon instead of F11 (or the other way round) — is it broken?
- No, that is the Fn lock. Hold Fn to get the other function, or press Fn + Esc to swap the behaviour of the whole row. A broken key leans, catches or no longer goes down.
Check your keyboard's brand
You are looking at a Logitech key. Keycap and hinge differ between brands: this key will not fit an Apple keyboard.
