Recommended tools for some keys
Optional but handy: the spudger lifts the key without scratching or bending the mechanism, and the thin blade of the flat screwdriver unhooks the plastic hinge and helps clip it back in.

On these keyboards, this genuine MX Keys key takes the place of the official one: same scissor mechanism and mounting, with a legend and finish that may differ slightly.
Where is the Down arrow key and what does it do?
On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Down arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, between the Left arrow and the Right arrow, below the Up arrow. It moves the cursor one line down or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the next paragraph in Word.
About the Arrow Down replacement key
A Arrow Down key for the Logitech MX Keys, supplied with its hinge, to replace a navigation key that cracked, wobbles or went missing. A genuine salvaged part: the Arrow Down key is taken, pre-owned, from a dismantled keyboard and shipped without a dome.
Compatibility
This Arrow Down keycap fits the full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac), where the arrows are full-height keys; the MX Keys Mini uses half-height arrows of another shape. The legend is that of the QWERTZ (CH) layout.
The Arrow Down key: position, size and wear
On the full-size MX Keys the arrows are full one-unit keys laid out in an inverted T; on the MX Keys Mini they are half-height keys of another shape, so the two do not swap. An arrow takes long runs of quick presses, and its hinge, with no metal wire under it, is what eventually cracks.
How to install it
No tools needed. Lift what is left of the old Arrow Down key by one corner, straight up, clear away any pieces of hinge, clip the supplied hinge flat onto its anchor points, then set the new cap on top and press the centre until it clicks.
Arrow Down key — questions
- Where is the Down arrow key and what does it do?
- On a full-size Logitech MX Keys, the Down arrow key sits in the inverted T of the arrow keys, between the Left arrow and the Right arrow, below the Up arrow. It moves the cursor one line down or scrolls the page. With Shift it extends the selection; with Ctrl it jumps to the next paragraph in Word.
- Is the Arrow Down key compatible with my MX Keys keyboard?
- Yes on a full-size MX Keys (MX Keys, MX Keys S and MX Keys for Mac); no on the MX Keys Mini, whose arrows are half-height keys.
- Is the hinge included with the Arrow Down key?
- Yes, the X-shaped hinge comes with the Arrow Down key — it is often the part that broke. Only the rubber dome is not supplied: it stays in place on the keyboard under the Arrow Down key, and domes are sold in packs among our spare parts.
- My Arrow Down key stays dead despite a new cap — where is the fault?
- A key that goes down normally but types nothing points to the rubber dome, sold separately; if the Arrow Down key wobbles, it is the hinge, supplied with it. When several keys next to the Arrow Down key fail at the same time, the cause is inside the keyboard, not under the cap.
